One of the great pleasures (and big learning experiences) I’ve had during pandemic has been recording drums from home on some very cool projects. Luke is an amazing saxophonist, musician, and educator who I’ve had to pleasure of touring and playing in groups with for over 8 years now. Check out his newest project featuring Tim Aucoin (bass), Patrick Arthur (guitar), John Boulware (fiddle), and myself on drums.

Kenny Washington Transcription, "The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else" (Jonathan Mills)

This is my transcription of Kenny trading 8's with Bill Charlap on "The One I Love Belongs To Somebody Else," on Bill's record, Uptown Downtown. The whole record is killin, check it out! You can learn to play like other drummers too with some help! Please contact me for drum lessons if interested.

When My Minds Quiet

I’m incredibly excited to announce the release of my first single as leader! “When My Mind’s Quiet” looks inward and acknowledges that human’s best performances, clearest thoughts, and most productive moments occur when we can quiet our minds of all other thoughts & distractions and allow instinct and flow to happen.

I’m joined on this song by amazing musicians and friends:

Jason Collier - Trumpet, Luke Weathington - Alto Sax, William Hollifield - Tenor Sax, Brandon Boone - Bass, Jonathan Mills - Vibraphone and Drums.

Mixing & Mastering - Brandon Boone

Album Art - Sean Hamilton

Video Editing - Jonathan Mills
